AWARDS
NCK’s Pedagogical Prize is annually awarded to a person or organization from the Nordic-Baltic countries who has distinguished herself in the field of heritage learning. In 2012, Veera Pekkinen was awarded the prize for teaching the history and techniques of street art for elderly population. From 2009–2015 she planned and conducted 12 large scale painting projects for elderly in Finland, Norway and Sweden.

MUSEUM PEDAGOGY
Veera Pekkinen was the museum educator at the EMMA Espoo Museum of Modern Art in Espoo, Finland from 2006–2011. Her work at the Department of Education focused on the special programme, such as the workshops, events and guided tours for visitors of all ages, in the Saastamoinen Foundation’s Art Collection and the following exhibitions.
